Iceland, a Nordic island nation, is defined by its dramatic landscape with volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, glaciers, black sand beaches and lava fields. Most of the population lives in the capital, Reykjavik, which runs on geothermal power and is home to the National and Saga museums, tracing Iceland’s Viking history. During the program, you’ll have the opportunity to explore both the natural landscapes and historical elements of Iceland.

  • May 15: Depart from JFK to Reykjavik in the evening
  • May 16: Arrive in Reykjavik in the morning for cultural visits in Vikingarheimar and a visit to Blue Lagoon
  • May 17: Golden Circle & Skálholt. View the Langjökull Glacier from a distance. Next, continue on to Thingvellir National Park, where you’ll see Lake Thingvallavatn, the Gullfoss Waterfall, and the Great Geysir. The Golden Circle route includes a visit to Skálholt.
  • May 18: Explore Reykjavik on your own.
  • May 19: Visit the Settlement Center featuring exhibitions about the settlement of Iceland and the Egils Saga. Next, we drive into Borgarfjörður, where you will visit Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfall, Deildatunguhver hotspring and Reykholt
  • May 20: Visit the black sand beaches of Iceland’s South Coast. See the Skogafoss waterfall as well as the nearby volcano, glacier, and hot springs. Also visit the Skogar Folk Museum.
  • May 21: Reykjavik Museum Visits
  • May 22: Guided boat tour in Reykjavik for whale watching
  • May 23: Depart for the US. Arrive at JFK in the evening.

Passport Requirements

Due to new government regulations, passport information must be provided with your final payment. If you need a new passport, apply immediately.

Without passport information tickets cannot be issued and delays with ticketing may create penalties and/or cancellations without a refund.

A copy of your passport is due no later than January 22, 2025.
