SJNY TO HONOR ALUMNI AT ANNUAL GALA

BROOKLYN and PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – September 27, 2024 – St. Joseph’s University, New York (SJNY) will honor seven distinguished alumni at its annual Esse Non Videri Gala Awards, toasting the best of St. Joseph’s and raising funds for student scholarships on Friday, November 8 at the Garden City Hotel in Garden City, New York.

“We are extremely proud to recognize this year’s honorees whose transformational thinking has made incredible impacts on those they work with, serve and their communities,” said Rory Shaffer-Walsh, vice president for institutional advancement at SJNY. “These individuals are inspirational and we look forward to celebrating and congratulating them for their impressive achievements.”

This year’s honorees are:
•    President’s Esse Non Videri Award: Steve Somers ’82, Solex Capital Management, Partner
•    President’s Award - Legacy of Change: Mary B. Mulvihill, Ed.D., ’64, retired non-profit executive director, and founder and president of Seniors Taking Action 
•    Lifetime of Leading Award: Glenn Kubik ’99, math teacher, Northport-East Northport School District
•    Excellence in Social Impact Award: Noeline Maldonado ’05, executive director, The Healing Center, Brooklyn
•    Rising Star Award: Dylan Larkin ’16, assistant principal, New York City Department of Education
•    Rising Star Award: Madeline Romano ’09 and Mary Vitale ’10, co-founders, Beyond Play NYC
