Bio

Jerry Grossman has more than 40 years of experience in marketing and advertising. Following his lengthy career in the industry, Grossman, who had  served as an adjunct professor since 2011, was named Director of Graduate Management Studies at St. Joseph’s University in 2020. He is also an Assistant Teaching Professor, teaching courses in Marketing Concepts and Strategies, Public Relations, Advertising Management, Consumer Behavior and Digital Marketing. Grossman was instrumental in developing SJNY’s MBA in Marketing program, which was introduced in 2021.

He began his career working at renowned advertising agencies for a variety of accounts, including Proctor and Gamble (Crest, Pampers, Charmin), Stanley Tools, Corning, Schweppes, The National and Nikon. In 1993, he was hired by Nikon as Director of Advertising, moving on to successive marketing positions, including Vice President of Internet Development, where he launched Nikon’s original websites, Nikonusa.com and NikonNet. He was later named Vice President of Marketing for all consumer products, a role in which he was responsible for helping Nikon go from the analog to the digital world.

An avid photo enthusiast, Grossman acquired Photo Industry Reporter magazine in April 2005, with the goal of creating an indispensable publication for the photo industry. Re-launched as Digital Imaging Reporter, the publication remains the leading trade publication in the imaging industry. Grossman also created Demystifying Digital magazine, a quarterly insert in USA Today that is dedicated to making sense of today’s technology, as well as demystifyingdigital.com, a consumer targeted website that offers reviews and helpful hints to all things digital. In March 2011, he launched Photo Book and Creative Printing Retailer, a trade magazine designed to help retailers increase their printing profits.

In 2015, Grossman co-created PMDA Salutes Photographers Who Give Back, which honors professional and student photographers who use their talents to give back to causes that are important to them.

Grossman earned a B.S. in Marketing from University at Buffalo and an MBA from Baruch College.
