Scholarly & Professional Interests

Joseph E. Pascarella, Ph.D. is an assistant professor and associate chair of the Department of Criminal Justice at St. Joseph's University, New York. Dr. Pascarella received his Ph.D. from the City University of New York in 2003 and M.A. in Criminal Justice form John Jay College in 1993.

Dr. Pascarella was a Fulbright Scholar in 2003 and retired as a captain in the New York Police Department in 2009. Dr. Pascarella's research interests include criminal justice organizations and strategies, homeland security and cyber crime. Dr. Pascarella's latest publication, "The Impact of Newark's Operation Ceasefire on Trauma Center Gunshot Wound Admissions" was published in the Justice of Research Policy in 2010.
