Lori Thanos joined the St. Joseph's University, New York faculty in 2015 as an instructor in the Business & Marketing Department, Brooklyn campus. In slightly over 1 year, she earned her doctorate, amassing a straight-A average, was promoted to Assistant Professor, has been serving on the Curriculum Committee from 2015 to date, and served on the Student Judicial Committee from 2015 to 2018.
Dr. Thanos was appointed as Associate Chair of the Business and Marketing Department, Fall 2018. She has presented at conferences and has been published in several peer-reviewed journals in her field. Prior to joining St. Joseph's University, Dr. Thanos worked for CUNY for 6 years and over 25 years in corporate finance and marketing, notably Citigroup.
Dr. Thanos serves as Secretary for a non-profit organization entitled Parental Loving Care, home for autistic boys/men in Staten Island, NY since 1998. She is also a member of New York Italians, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and celebrating the rich culture and heritage of Italy and its people through outstanding cultural events and culinary programs, language classes, educational lectures and charities.
Dr. Thanos’ scholarly interests include Millennial consumer behavior, cultural pluralism among Millennials, market segmentation of culturally pluralistic Millennials, cultural self-identification, acculturation and multicultural markets effect on Millennials, and social media effects on mental health. She has also published and given presentations in all of these areas.
