Bio

Renee White, Ed.D., widely known as Dr. Nay, is a professor in the graduate literacy and child study program at St. Joseph's University, New York.

Specializing in the importance of multicultural diversity and parental involvement as the foundation to a child's education, Dr. White has written numerous academic articles and book chapters, and has presented extensively and written papers for conferences both nationally and internationally. She co-authored the book, The "Hard-to-Reach" Parent: Old Challenges, New Insights with L. Decker.

Dr. White is a best-selling author and poet. Her books, Sistah Girl: Step into Your Greatness and Yo Bro: Strive Toward Excellence, provide young adults with essential literacy and social-emotional skills. These publications are used in Child Study courses and elementary schools to enhance educational programs. Additionally, her insightful work, Embrace Your Power: A Sistah to Sistah Conversation, offers a poetic journey of self-reflection and empowerment for women.

Dr. White has received accolades for her dedication to teaching and education, including the Eugene Campbell Leadership Award and United Federation of Teachers Scholarship Award, and was the recipient of several grants, including the Faculty Development Small Grant and New York State Education Department Task Force Grant, both from St. Joseph's University.

Dr. White is also the founder and CEO of Renee’s Way Inc., a consulting firm dedicated to uplifting underserved communities, particularly women and children of color. Through her inspirational poetry, transformative keynote speaking and interactive workshops, she makes a profound impact on both national and international stages.
