The Business Affairs Bursar Office is recruiting for a FT Senior Administrative Assistant. The position assists with the operations of the Patchogue Bursar Office and Great River administrative offices. Candidate to assist with primarily office functions including cashiering for student accounts, refunds, accurately coding and posting data and retaining account records. In addition, provide support to the Brooklyn Bursar Office, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Handle Accounts Receivables for all variations of a students’ account
  • Collection Agency liaison handling referrals and collection receivable
  • Research and analyze student accounts associated with Third party payment plans
  • Effectively communicate with participants of our cash payment plans
  • Troubleshoot student accounts and reply accordingly
  • Effectively communicate with staff members, co-workers and other departments
  • Cash Handling and reconciling
  • Accurately billing/invoicing student accounts when appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned by Bursar

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree preferred, but must have H.S. Diploma with minimum of 2 years’ experience in Higher Education Business environment
  • Supervisory experience
  • Excellent Customer services skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and independently
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office; i.e. WORD, EXCEL
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Colleague experience a plus
  • Flexible hours, schedule may require evening and/or weekend hours
  • Ability to travel between Great River and Patchogue locations
