Part-time Evening Supervisor for Tutoring & Academic Development

The primary responsibility of this position is to provide supervision to evening student workers and manage the office's evening duties. 

Job Duties

  • Help manage tutoring staff
    • Supervise evening student workers
    • Reinforce policies, procedures, and professionalism
    • Maintain a warm, welcoming atmosphere for students to feel comfortable learning in
    • Schedule breaks for tutors when appropriate
    • Help with training and staff development, when appropriate
    • Monitor tutors’ client report completion and send out reminder notifications
    • Monitor tutors’ handling of exams, scheduling of appointments, interactions with appointments, and appointment record keeping and assist them, when appropriate
  • Manage Exams
    • Process exams coming into and out of the Test Center in the evening
    • Schedule proctors for students with accommodations
    • Proctor exams when needed
    • Inform and uphold Test Center policies and procedures
    • Return completed exams
  • Data & Record Keeping
    • Help with appointment, testing, and required student data compilation via excel
    • Record keeping
  • Other Duties
    • Help with assessment, reflection, and semester planning
    • Arbitrate situations in a professional manner when someone is upset or agitated
    • Input and alter tutor schedules, as needed, on the online scheduling system
    • Maintain privacy of students who utilize the Tutoring Center and Test Center
    • Obtain documentation and paperwork for potential hires
    • Some clerical work

Additional Information and Application Process

Work Schedule

  • Monday – Thursday, 2:30-7:30 p.m., 20 hours per week
  • Summer hours (June – August) vary

Rate of Pay: $22 per hour
