Faculty Member to Give Presentation on Social Media

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – May 11, 2015 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that Amy Poland, Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice on the College’s Long Island Campus, will be giving the presentation “Social Media and Prezi: The Perfect Pairing for Any Presentation,” hosted by the Social Media Association (SMA) on Wednesday, May 20 at 7:30 a.m. at the Morrelly Homeland Security Center in Bethpage.

Dr. Poland will present this two-part, hands-on workshop on Prezi and social media. The first part, “Three Easy Ways to Create Dynamic Presentations Using Prezi,” will provide attendees with skills to create presentations using Prezi, cloud-based presentation and storytelling software. The second is “Social Media in the Classroom and Research” and will take attendees from social media consumers to social media creators.

“Prezi is online presentation software that allows you to create and deliver presentations that will capture the attention of your audience,” said Dr. Poland. “The workshop will give you the skills to build dynamic presentations to tell your story.”
