PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – October 19, 2018 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that the Office of Alumni Engagement awarded the Saint Catherine Medal to SJC alumnus Joseph Macellaro ’07, ’10 at this year’s Honors Convocation on Thursday, October 11.
The Saint Catherine Medal is awarded annually to recognize recipients for their leadership, scholarship and service. Only colleges and universities that are affiliated with Kappa Gamma Pi, the national catholic college graduate honor society, can award the Saint Catherine Medal.
Macellaro received a B.S. in General Studies in 2007 and an M.B.A. in 2010. As a student, he was vice president of the Student Government Association and Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He is a board member of SJC Long Island’s Alumni Association and Generation SJC, a committee with special interests in reconnecting alumni who graduated from the College within the past 10 years. Macellaro also volunteers at Branch of Faith Church in Port Jefferson Station, True North Community Church in Bohemia and Free Union Church of Ocean Beach.
Macellaro resides in Centereach.
