PATCHOGUE, N.Y. March 22, 2013 The Department of History at St. Josephs College (SJC) is pleased to announce its fourth annual lecture, "Paragons of Catholic Education in the 16th Century on Thursday, April 11 at 12:40 p.m. in the DEcclesiis Auditorium on the Long Island Campus.
"The history department at SJC strives to enrich the students' educational experience not only in the classroom, but through exposure to world-class experts in various fields of study, said James Blakeley, Ph.D., associate professor of history on the Long Island Campus. "The annual lecture is especially important to the department, because the public is encouraged to attend and see the outstanding programs that we offer."
"Paragons of Catholic Education in the 16th Century will be presented by Susan C. Karant-Nunn, Ph.D., regents professor of history at the University of Arizona. Dr. Karant-Nunn is an expert on the Reformations of the 16th century in Europe and was awarded the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship in 2003 for religion. She is the author of numerous books, including her most recent, The Reformation of Feeling: Shaping the Religious Emotions in Early Modern Germany.
