February 28, 2013

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. March 1, 2013 St. Josephs College (SJC) faculty member Peter Mascuch will host a discussion on the 2013 Academy Award winner for Best Foreign Film and nominee for Best Picture, Amour, on Thursday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. The discussion and screening will take place at the Plaza Cinema & Media Arts Center (MAC) in downtown Patchogue as part of its ongoing Film Discussion Series.

"I've been waiting eagerly to see Amour, because it has two legendary stars, a provocative director, and has won nearly every award available, while receiving rapturous reviews from most critics, said Peter Mascuch, Ph.D., associate professor of English and American studies and coordinator of the film media studies program at SJC. "It's wonderful to have the opportunity to see it at Plaza MAC and a pleasure to be able to discuss it with some of the smartest moviegoers in our area.

The film will be shown on Thursday, March 7 and Friday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $7 for students with a valid ID. For more information, visit www.plazamac.org.
