PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – January 8, 2016 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that it has been chosen to receive the Melville Chamber of Commerce’s 2015 Non-Profit of the Year Award at their annual awards celebration on Thursday, January 28 at the Colonial Springs Golf Club in Farmingdale, New York.
“We are honored to receive this notable award from our colleagues at the Melville Chamber of Commerce,” said Jack P. Calareso, Ph.D., SJC president. “As a non-profit organization, St. Joseph’s mission has always focused on improving the lives of our students and community members. We take great pride in what we do and are so grateful to have our efforts recognized with this distinguished award.”
The Melville Chamber of Commerce annually recognizes organizations and individuals for their community support, mentorship and sincere interest in doing what is best for business, residents and those who visit Long Island.
“As a part of our mission, SJC is committed to supporting educational programs and services that will contribute to the vitality of the communities we serve,” said Gail Lamberta, Ph.D., associate dean of community development at SJC. “It has been a pleasure to work with the Melville Chamber of Commerce, and together we can develop partnerships that will continue supporting both businesses and residents within the community.”
The Melville Chamber of Commerce promotes economic and business development throughout its area in a coordinated effort of business, available resources within the community and the Chamber. The Melville Chamber of Commerce provides networking opportunities, business to business services and many other programs to create and stimulate business opportunities, and works with business leaders, community leaders, professional leaders and elected officials to improve the quality of life for the business community and residents.
