SJC Honors Alumni in Health Care and Human Services

The Office of Alumni Relations and the Departments of Human Services, Health Administration and Nursing at St. Joseph’s College (SJC) are pleased to announce that they will host the Third Annual Alumni Achievement Awards on Thursday, June 18 at 6 p.m. in the McGann Conference Center, located on the College’s Long Island Campus.

This year’s honorees are April Peters, RN ’08, ’11; Carolyn Confusione ’11, ’12; Jennifer Piscitelli ’15; Kevin Beiner, M.B.A.; Laurel Janssen Breen, Ph.D., R.N., C.N.E., associate professor and coordinator of SJC’s Department of Nursing; and Carolyn Gallogly, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of SJC’s Department of Human Services.

“This event celebrates and recognizes several outstanding St. Joseph’s individuals who have contributed significantly in their professional endeavors,” said John Sardelis, Dr.P.H., M.A.A.A, A.S.A., associate chairperson of the Department of Health Administration at SJC. “Achievement comes in many forms and among this year’s honorees are students who have overcome major personal challenges, alumni who have made great impacts in their chosen fields and faculty who have risen to the top of their organizations. We are so proud of all of them.”

The keynote speech will be delivered by Dr. Gallogly, one of the event’s honorees. Her talk, “Mission to Vision,” will discuss her personal mission of supporting adults who are trying to achieve their academic goals and degrees at SJC. Dr. Gallogly will also reflect on lessons in leadership that she has learned and the theories she teaches her students.
