SJC Introduces Specialized Summer Camps for Kids

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – March 16, 2016 – SJC Long Island is pleased to introduce an all-new exciting summer camp experience—SJCamps. Beginning summer 2016, SJCamps will be housed at the College’s state-of-the-art facilities, hosted by talented and experienced staff, and will feature an array of options catered to the development of your child.

SJCamps offers four distinct summer camp experiences for pre-K to high school-aged children: SJCDiscovers, a technology and games camp; SJCPerforms, a theater and arts camp; SJCSports, an athletic and sport camp; and SJCKids, a traditional youth camp experience.

•    SJCDiscovers will utilize SJC’s computer labs, Smart Boards and high-tech classrooms to expand campers’ technical skills and allow them to explore their creativity. SJCDiscovers will split the camp day into half technology and half recreational activities. This camp is for children entering 7th grade and up.

•    SJCPerforms blends instructional, performance and creative thinking while using exercises that activate campers’ bodies and imaginations to develop skills that last a lifetime. SJCPerforms is for children entering 3rd to 8th grade. 

•    SJCSports will take advantage of all that SJC’s 24.8-acre Outdoor Field Complex and John A. Danzi Athletic Center have to offer, including a state-of-the-art gymnasium, indoor track, basketball court and aerobics room. SJCSports includes baseball, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, softball and volleyball. SJCSports is for children entering 1st to 11th grade, except for volleyball which is 7th to 12th grade. 

•    SJCKids offers a variety of enriching activities that are broken down into two categories: a younger division for children ages 3–5 and an older division for students from 1st grade and up. Whether kicking off your first camp experience or having fun with a new group of friends, SJCKids offers sports, creative crafts and more.
