PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – MAY 20, 2016 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that for the fifth year in a row, an SJC student will receive the Long Island Recreational Trails Conservancy’s (LIRTC) annual scholarship. This year, Patrick White ’16 was selected by the organization for his military service and commitment to education. The annual ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 22.
“We are honored to have Patrick as a student at SJC and we congratulate him on receiving the LIRTC scholarship,” said Erin D’Eletto, director of the Office of Military and Veteran Services at SJC. “As a student and active member of the Air National Guard, Patrick has displayed integrity, honor and sacrifice. He brings great experience to the classroom and has been an example to his fellow students.”
Since 2009, White has been a member of the Air National Guard, 106th Rescue Wing in Westhampton Beach, New York. He is graduating with a B.S. in Organizational Management and will enter SJC’s graduate program in organizational management this fall.

LIRTC is a not-for-profit organization that supports local causes and awards scholarships and grants to those in need. It serves as an educational facility to teach safe and responsible ATV use, with a goal of expanding open space rehabilitation to provide long-term active recreational and educational opportunities to members of the public not served by traditional municipal land use policies.
