The Armed Forces Association at SJC to Hold Benefit Concert

PATCHOGUE, NY MARCH 3, 2011 The Armed Forces Association at St. Josephs College and Since You Went Away, a benevolent association supporting the mothers of U.S. troops serving our country both at home and overseas, will hold a benefit concert featuring world-renowned Irish Tenor Anthony Kearns on Friday, March 18 at 7 p.m. in the DEcclesiis Auditorium located on the Colleges Long Island Campus.

A soloist and founding member of the Irish Tenors, Anthony Kearns tours several times a year in both Ireland and the U.S.; he tours at least twice annually with The Irish Tenors, during which time he performs in some of the most prestigious venues around country, including Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Boston's Fleet Pavilion and The Hollywood Bowl, to name a few. Considered Irelands leading tenor, he has produced numerous highly successful CDs with The Irish Tenors, which have sold millions of copies over the past decade.

Founded in September 2010, Since You Went Away is a benevolent organization that was formed by eight friends with the goal of reaching out to mothers of U.S. troops serving our country both at home and overseas. Its mission is to be an encouragement to military mothers by performing random acts of kindness including, but not limited to, remembering their childrens service, reminding them someone cares and reverencing their spirit.
