PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – September 21, 2015 – The Department of Continuing Education at SJC Long Island will host an all-day conference for the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) on Friday, October 23 at 8:30 a.m. in the McGann Conference Center, located on the College’s campus in Patchogue.
After a networking breakfast, the conference, “Enhancing Your Role, Your Profession and Your Company,” will begin with workshops, followed by an alumni expert panel discussion, “Demonstrating Value in Human Resources,” moderated by Diane Pfadenhauer, SPHR, Esq., assistant professor at SJC.
The panel presentation will be followed by lunch and a keynote address on the legal forecast for 2016 by Lisa Boily, CCP, GRP, economist for the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Afternoon workshops will take place after lunch. Topics include Thriving with Corporate Wellness, led by MaryAnn Jones, CHC, AADP, founder of Thrive Naturally; The Relevancy of Human Resources Certifications, led by Diane Pfadenhauer, assistant professor at SJC; and Leveraging Technology in Human Capital Management, led by Joseph Posner, SPHR, director of human resources at New Visions for Public Schools.
