SJC Long Island Participates in MADD

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – SEPTEMBER 30, 2015 –A dedicated group of SJC Long Island students and staff recently participated in Make A Difference Day (MADD), a day of community service that was inspired by the national Make A Difference Day.

On Saturday, September 26, a group of 34 volunteers completed a number of off-campus community service projects for a variety of organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Momma’s House, St. Joseph the Worker Church Community Garden in East Patchogue, Double D Bar Ranch in Manorville and Gerald Ryan Outreach Center in Wyandanch. 

“Make A Difference Day is a college-wide, coordinated service effort that is true to its name,” said Patrick Tracy, director of campus ministry at SJC Long Island. “This event and the efforts of our students model our mission of service and social responsibility, and that is something to be very proud of.”

Make A Difference Day 2015, the largest national day of community service, will take place on Saturday, October 24.
