"Initially, I decided to attend St. Joseph's for financial reasons upon receiving a Presidential Scholarship. Now in the middle of my last semester here at St. Joseph's, I am so thankful for my decision.
"I have had amazing professors and advisors that have guided me accordingly to ensure both my career aspirations and personal passions were reflected in my course schedules. Professor Bartley and Dr. Rockwell were both supportive of my decision to double major in two demanding areas and helped to make it work.
"[After graduation] I have accepted an offer from PricewaterhouseCoopers for their Manhattan office as a Financial Due Diligence Associate in Advisory Transaction Services."
"In addition to my academics, St. Joseph's has provided so many opportunities for me such as sparking my interest in traveling — sponsoring a trip to Ireland for the Honors students and by encouraging Greek life. The Greek community at St. Joseph's University has made college an amazing experience for me that will last well beyond my degree."
"What if I fall?" Oh my darling, but what if you fly?" — Erin Hanson
"My family in general has been a huge influence on my life. They have always pushed me to do great things but have a good head on my shoulders. It is because of them I am willing to accept challenges, meet my goals and stay humble."
"In my spare time I enjoy going to any type of musical performance. I started drumming at the age of 5 through my beginning years of college and have since continued my passion for music by putting any extra money at the end of the month toward concert tickets. I enjoy experiencing all types of music with others at different venues. There has not been a genre that I have found where I cannot appreciate it in someway, but alternative rock will always have my heart."
"I have learned that if you are willing to accept challenges and rise to the occasion, there's nothing you cannot accomplish."
"I wish I could narrow it down, but all of my professors have had a significant impact on my education. I have been so fortunate with all of my professors at St. Joe's."
"I did not study aboard but I went to Ireland with the honors group and it was the most amazing experience ever. After bonding with this class for two years and learning about Ireland, it was a rewarding experience to watch a textbook come to life as we visited places were read about and just had a blast together living Irish culture. It also sparked my passion for traveling and have since been to 10 different countries."
"I have always supported myself financially, especially when it came to college. However that became more defined when I got my own apartment at the beginning of junior year. It is quite expensive living on Long Island so I had to compensate by working more. This also happened to be when my course load picked up and I became super involved with my sorority. It taught me the importance of time management and I feel that this experience has made me stronger and more attune to my community and surroundings."
"The best advice someone has ever given me has been to work your hardest but always remain humble."
"While teaching course material, Dr. Rockwell always encouraged, if not insisted, on everyone doing their own research and having a healthy dose of skepticism. Whether it is watching the news or engaging in conversation with your neighbor, it is important to not just take everything you hear as fact. That it would be worth your while to do a little investigating on your own for your personal knowledge and this has helped me tremendously in my academics, professional career, and personal life."
