Art History Minor
Cultivate an understanding of human expression.

Study Art History. Learn about the world around you and gain the tools to succeed in it. Choose from numerous courses covering a wide range of time periods, artistic techniques and world cultures. While studying Art History exposes you to new perspectives, it also focuses on practical skills, with emphasis on writing, research and critical analysis. Art History courses provide a flexible, yet useful basis for a liberal arts education that can be applied to any career path.

Digital Design Minor
Learn to express yourself in interactive and digital formats.

Digital design courses will introduce students to the hardware, software and techniques utilized within the digital art fields. With programs like Adobe Photoshop students will learn to express themselves and their ideas in a variety of interactive and visual formats.

Fine Arts Minor
Find your own aesthetic.

The fine arts minor consists of 24 credits, including 12 art credits (one art history course and three art studio courses) and 12 music credits (including one music theory course, one music history course and one music studio course). Twelve of the 24 total credits must be above the 100 level.

Studio art courses guide students in discovering their creative potential, through the creation of works that address technical proficiency, conceptual exploration and self-expression.

Concentrations in Art/Fine Arts for Child Study
The perfect complement to your degree.

Thirty credits consisting of five art history/theory courses and five studio art courses. Fifteen credits must be at the 100 level. The University does not offer New York State Certification in art, but the 30 credits of art courses taken by students in the art concentration program meet state requirements and qualify the student to register for the Art Certification Exam.
