Long Island Journalism and New Media Studies Major

Long Island Journalism and New Media Studies Major

Search for and discover the truth. Craft stories that change the world. Get ready.

Find the truth in the era of “fake news.” Tell informative and useful stories that accurately depict facts and the views of citizens from all walks of life. Productively consume and produce information in a world seemingly driven by social media.

If all this interests you, then the Journalism and New Media Studies major at St. Joseph’s University, New York is your perfect fit. Our program rigorously prepares its students for careers in media, corporate and nonprofit communications, public relations and government.

Drawing on such classic liberal arts disciplines as English, history and communications, combined with cutting-edge new and digital media studies, our Journalism and New Media Studies faculty members instill the writing and reporting skills that are essential for traditional and new media formats — including digital video and interactive websites — along with an understanding of today’s digital culture that allows them to see the difference between “fake news” and the genuine article.
