Institute for the Study of Religion in Community Life

Institute for the Study of Religion in Community Life

The Institute for the Study of Religion in Community Life was founded to investigate and articulate the various roles religious institutions and individual people of faith can take to enhance community life.

To this end, we sponsor research projects and educational seminars, develop cooperative programs with various religious organizations in the community and search out service opportunities in the community for our faculty and students.

For additional information, contact Thomas Petriano ([email protected]) at 631.687.2689.

In previous years,  the Institute has hosted such events as annual Kristallnacht, panel discussions and guest speakers including:

Professor Susannah Heschel
Eli Black Professor of Jewish Studies at Dartmouth College

S. Elizabeth A. Johnson, C.S.J., Ph.D.
