Patchogue, N.Y. – February 18, 2015 – The St. Joseph’s College (SJC) Alpha Phi Delta National Fraternity and the Epsilon Gamma Alumni Association will host the 10th Annual Dion Arroyo Scholarship Dinner at Lombardi’s on the Bay in Patchogue on Friday, February 20 at 8 p.m.
The event will raise funds for the Dion Arroyo Memorial Scholarship Fund, with a portion of the raffle sales benefiting The Rose Brucia Educational Foundation, a local organization that is committed to reducing the number of child abductions in America by educating and empowering young minds with the knowledge necessary to avoid abduction.
This year’s recipient of the Dion Arroyo Memorial Scholarship is Matthew Wimpelberg ’14, an SJC alumnus who earned a B.S. in Computer Information Technology on SJC’s Long Island Campus and now works as a systems engineer at Millennium Partners in New York City.
The Dion Arroyo Memorial Scholarship was endowed in 2006 to honor the memory of Dion Arroyo, SJC student and brother of the Delta Psi Omega Fraternity, who tragically died in a car accident on September 11, 2003. The scholarship is awarded annually to a male student who, like Dion, is a mathematics or computer science major on SJC’s Long Island Campus.
Tickets are $60 (under 21 years of age); $75 (21 and over) and include a buffet dinner and open bar. Tickets can be purchased online. For more information, contact Anthony Powell at 631.291.7660 or Samuel Bifulco at 631.742.5166.
