PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – November 13, 2014 – The Office of Campus Ministry at St. Joseph’s College (SJC) has organized a number of holiday-related community service events for its students, faculty and staff. The events will align with the Office’s mission to foster the integral growth of the entire academic community while focusing on the personal, spiritual and moral development of SJC students.
“One of the main pillars of SJC’s campus ministry is community service,” said Patrick Tracy, director of campus ministry on SJC’s Long Island Campus.
The following events are open to members of the College community:
“We offer a wide variety of programs that center on a deep concern for the rights and dignity of every person, especially the poor and most vulnerable,” said Tracy. “Many of our programs offer a hands-on approach through the volunteering of one’s time, energy and talent to foster important values in students.”
In addition to these events, students serve soup and hot meals to those in need at St. Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church and Hope House Ministries throughout the year.
