This year’s conference was designed to bring leisure services and therapeutic recreation together to discuss and provide programs and services through all continuums of care from parks to health-related facilities. These programs and services span across all age groups and demographics. Some workshop topics that will be offered at the conference include Dealing with Difficult People; Social Media and You; Dance Movement Therapy and Adapted Yoga, among others.
“As a professor and chair of the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at SJC and the president of LILSA, our full-day professional conference provides training, support and information to both students and professionals in our field,” said Gail Lamberta, Ph.D. “Our goal is to foster and provide opportunities to enhance professional development through education, training, networking and recruitment. In addition, SJC, LILSA and its members will provide a greater public awareness relative to our field, which will deepen our identity as a distinct and viable profession aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all persons in our local and global communities.”
The cost to attend this event is $65; $60 for LILSA members. Students with a valid ID receive free admission. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. For more information about this year’s conference, email [email protected].
