The program will include a networking breakfast, followed by a panel presentation and Q&A session by Long Island hoteliers. Panelists include Ken Walles, president of East Coast Management, Ltd. at Oceanside Beach Resort in Montauk, New York; Don Monti, president and CEO of Renaissance Downtowns; and Rob Salvatico, partner and vice president of operations at Jaral Properties. The panel discussion will be moderated by Mike Johnston, principal/founder of Concorde Hotel Group, LLC and president of the Long Island Hospitality and Leisure Association.
“This will be a great opportunity to network with lodging industry professionals, hospitality students and community leaders,” said Dr. Janice Scarinci, chair of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management at SJC. “The symposium is a learning laboratory for the students in the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management who will assist in hosting the event.”
The mission of the IHTM at SJC is to provide a leading voice in the discussion of responsible hospitality as a critical component to running a successful enterprise. In addition, SJC seeks to prepare students for professional careers in the hospitality and tourism management field, while making a positive impact, not only on our local region, but on the global community as well.
