SJC Appoints New Member to Board of Trustees

BROOKLYN and PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – April 16, 2019 – St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that Leonard Stekol, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ridgewood Savings Bank, has been appointed to the College’s Board of Trustees.

Stekol has more than 25 years of financial experience in the banking industry and has held numerous positions at Ridgewood Savings Bank, including President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. 

In addition to his membership on Ridgewood’s Board of Trustees, Stekol is a board member of MercyFirst located in Syosset, New York, where he is also a member of the Finance and Charitable Fundraising committees. He has served as vice chairman of America’s Mutual Banks since January 2018 and has served on the New York State Department of Financial Services Charter Advisory Board since April 2018. 

Stekol holds degrees from Queens College and Adelphi University. He is a graduate of the National School of Banking at Fairfield University and is a licensed certified public accountant. 

Stekol resides in Bellmore with his wife, Elaina, and their two daughters, Rebecca and Victoria.
