PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – June 5, 2015 – The Office of Admissions and the Department of Human Services at St. Joseph’s College (SJC) will host a panel event titled, “Careers in Human Services,” on Tuesday, June 16 at 6 p.m. in the McGann Conference Center at SJC Long Island.
The event will feature a panel of SJC alumni from the B.S. in Human Services and the M.S. in Human Services Leadership programs who will be presenting in strategic areas of career growth including, addictions prevention and treatment counseling; veterans and military family support services; housing services for the homeless, disabled and mentally ill; and human services management for improved patient and client support.
“There continue to be many opportunities for jobs in the field of human services,” said Carolyn Gallogly, Ph.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Human Services at SJC Long Island. “This panel of SJC alumni, and so many others, are achieving success and they will share their insights at this event.”
Panelists for this event include, Darlene Rastelli of Carol Baldwin Breast Center; Robin Smith of Concern for Independent Living; Gary Richard of Suffolk County Veterans' Affairs; and Georgiana Fitzgerald, case manager for a homeless shelter.
