PATCHOGUE, N.Y. JUNE 20, 2014 St. Josephs College (SJC) is pleased to welcome two new distinguished faculty members to its Hospitality and Tourism Management Program:
Janice Scarinci, Ph.D., has joined SJC as director and professor of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Dr. Scarinci earned a B.S. and M.S. in Parks and Recreation Tourism from the University of Florida and a Ph.D. in Hospitality from James Cook University in Queensland, Australia. Prior to her arrival at SJC, she was the chair of the Hospitality Management Department at Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Fla. for 13 years and taught more than 27 courses in five countries on three continents. Dr. Scarinci will primarily work from SJCs Long Island Campus, but will provide support for the Brooklyn Campus as it introduces the Hospitality and Tourism Management program.
Harold Nolan, Jr., Ph.D., has joined SJC as a full-time professor from his position as senior professor and coordinator of the Tourism, Sport and Recreation Management program and the marketing concentration in the School of Business at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. Dr. Nolan holds a B.A. in Recreation and Park Management from John F. Kennedy College in Nebraska, an M.A. in Environmental Management from Montclair State University, an M.B.A. in Marketing from Monmouth University and a Ph.D. in Recreation, Parks and Tourism from the University of Utah.
"Both Dr. Scarinci and Dr. Nolan bring extensive backgrounds within the hospitality and tourism industry and their local and global academic and practical experiences to their positions within SJC, said Gail Lamberta, Ph.D., associate academic dean, co-chair of HTM and professor of hospitality and tourism management and recreation at SJC. "To this end, both faculty members will strengthen the existing program and enhance student learning opportunities moving forward.
