Brooklyn Campus Hires Three New Faculty Members

BROOKLYN, NY September 18, 2012 In keeping with its commitment to providing students with an affordable, world-class liberal arts education, St. Josephs Colleges Brooklyn Campus has hired three new full-time professors at the forefront of their respective disciplines.

• Theodore Hamm, Ph. D, associate professor of journalism and new media studies

• Anthony Correa, MBA, assistant professor of business

• Elizabeth Zollinger, Ph.D., assistant professor of mathematics

"They are coming to an institution that values teaching and has a faculty dedicated to student success. Their scholarly interests and experiences will surely enrich all of us.

Formerly of Metropolitan College of New York (MCNY), Dr. Hamm will chair the Colleges new Journalism/New Media program, launched this fall. In his previous position at MCNY, Dr. Hamm designed the curriculum and taught in the Urban Studies Department. In addition, he is the founding editor of the Brooklyn Rail, having created the editorial structure for that publication as well as serving as the lead editor for its local coverage.

Anthony Corrao is a veteran of the financial services world, having worked at several prominent firms over the past 23 years.  Formerly a vice president at Oppenheimer and Co. Inc., Corraos expertise ranges across diverse fields, including but not limited to sales, marketing and operations. Corrao will teach management, accounting, finance, small business management and business ethics during the fall 2012 semester.

Dr. Elizabeth Zollinger joins the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science as an assistant professor of mathematics. Formerly of Hiram College in Ohio, Dr. Zollingers research focuses on dynamical systems and ordinarily differential equations, and celestial mechanics and Hamiltonian systems.
