BROOKLYN, N.Y. – November 6, 2015 – SJC Brooklyn, in partnership with Greenlight Bookstore, is pleased to announce that it will welcome Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, creators of the nationally-renowned NPR podcast, Welcome to Night Vale, to discuss and act out their novelization of their work as part of the fall Brooklyn Voices lecture series on Thursday, November 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Touhy Hall Auditorium at SJC Brooklyn.
“This event promises to be a unique, fascinating look at self-discovery and identity, acted out by the authors right in front of the audience,” said Jill Rehman, Ph.D., vice president for academic affairs at SJC Brooklyn. “Fink and Cranor will bring their talents to our audience, illustrating why their series of podcasts have developed such a vibrant and loyal following.”
Set in Night Vale, a small town where ghosts, angels, aliens and government conspiracies are all commonplace parts of everyday life, the novel tells the story of two women — a perpetually nineteen-year-old pawn shop owner and the PTA president whose son is also a shape shifter — and the mystery of King City that plagues them both.
Tickets for this event are $20 and include a copy of the book and an opportunity to have it personally signed following the discussion. For more information, contact Michael Banach at 718.940.5584 or [email protected].
