St. Joseph’s College Presents the Clinton Hill Courses: Lecture Series

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – October 2, 2019  -St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce the Clinton Hill Courses: Lecture Series, a slate of talks that reflect the diversity of St. Joseph’s and the interests of the College’s surrounding communities.

The lectures are the following:

  • “Challenging Myths About the African Continent, presented by Olusola Togun-Butler, Ph.D, LCSW, Wednesday, October 16.
  • “Philosophy of the Child: Revisiting Childhood with Fresh Eyes, presented by Wendy Turgeon, Ph.D., Wednesday, October 30.
  • "One Artist’s Journey: From Quito to the Silk Road," presented by Cecile Chong, M.A., M.F.A, Wednesday, November 13.
  • “The Changing Politics of Race in NYC,” presented by Theodore Hamm, Ph.D., Wednesday, December 4.

"This fall's Clinton Hill Courses: Lecture Series represent the spirit of inquiry and passion possessed by the scholars at the College," said Raymond D'Angelo, Ph.D., interim executive dean and professor of sociology at SJC Brooklyn. "These talks, which are free and open to the public, seek to contribute to the vibrant cultural and intellectual scene of Brooklyn."
