BROOKLYN, N.Y. – January 27, 2025 – St. Joseph’s University, New York (SJNY), in partnership with Greenlight Bookstore, will host Chris Hayes, Emmy Award-winning TV host and New York Times bestselling author, to present his latest work, The Siren’s Call. Hayes will be joined by Jia Tolentino, New York Times bestselling author and staff writer for The New Yorker, for a reading and discussion about the book on Monday, February 10 at 7:30 p.m.
“We are thrilled to partner once again with Greenlight Bookstore for the highly anticipated Brooklyn Voices series,” said Phillip Dehne, Ph.D., SJNY Brooklyn campus executive dean. “Chris Hayes and Jia Tolentino both bring a wealth of talent and unique perspective to our campus community, and we look forward to an engaging discussion with them.”
The Siren's Call is a powerful wide-angle reckoning with how the assault from attention capitalism on our minds and our hearts has reordered our politics and the very fabric of our society. The Sirens’ Call is the book that snaps everything into a single holistic framework so that we can wrest back control of our lives, our politics and our future.
Hayes is an American political commentator, television news anchor and author. He hosts a weekday news and opinion television show on MSNBC and a weekly podcast.
Tolentino is a staff writer for The New Yorker and author of the New York Times bestseller Trick Mirror.
This event will take place at St. Joseph’s University, New York and is open to the public. Tickets are required and include a copy of the book. A book signing will follow the discussion. For more information about the Brooklyn Voices series, visit sjny.edu.
