Brooklyn Voices Presents Novelist Jonathan Ames

BROOKLYN, N.Y. March 4, 2013 St. Josephs College (SJC), in partnership with Greenlight Bookstore and the Brooklyn Rail, is pleased to present Jonathan Ames, novelist and the creator of the HBO series Bored to Death, as part of its Brooklyn Voices lecture series. This talk will take place on Monday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the Tuohy Hall Auditorium on the Colleges Brooklyn Campus.

"We are thrilled to have one of the communitys most versatile and creative minds speak at St. Josephs, said Dr. Richard Greenwald, SJCs Brooklyn Campus academic dean of the School of Arts and Sciences "Jonathan Ames is that rare, talented writer that knows how to be both funny and meaningful.

Author of the novels Wake Up, Sir!, The Extra Man and I Pass Like Night, Jonathan Ames has also published the graphic novel, The Alcoholic (with artwork by Dean Haspiel) and the collection of essays, I Love You More Than You Know, My Less Than Secret Life and What's Not to Love? Creator of the HBO series Bored to Death, he was the winner of a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1999. Ames frequently performs as a storyteller and has been a recurring guest on the Late Show with David Letterman. He also fought in two amateur boxing matches as "The Herring Wonder, and has performed in a number of shows. He currently resides in Brooklyn, N.Y.
