BROOKLYN AND PATCHOGUE, N.Y. December 5, 2013 - St. Josephs College (SJC) is pleased to announce that it has elected three new members to its Board of Trustees: Alberta Marie Aldinger 70, Michael E. Ryan of The LandTek Group, Inc. and Steve Somers 82 of Vigon International, Inc.
"The College is delighted to welcome the newest installment of three very distinguished individuals to join its leadership, said SJC President S. Elizabeth Hill, C.S.J., J.D. "Each of our new trustees bring a unique perspective to their position as board members and we look forward to the guidance and expertise that they will provide us in the future.
Alberta Marie Aldinger 70 serves on the board of directors and as secretary of the executive committee of Community Gatepath, the largest non-profit organization in San Mateo County helping people with disabilities achieve personal goals and live full, productive lives. A resident of Hillsborough, Calif., Ms. Aldinger is an active community member and philanthropist with a long history of volunteering for non-profits that focus on disadvantaged and disabled individuals.
Michael E. Ryan is the president of The Landtek Group, Inc., a national company specializing in sports facility design and construction since 1979. With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, Mr. Ryan has built state-of-the-art facilities for the New York Mets, the New York Yankees and the New York Jets, among numerous other sports teams, colleges and universities, schools and municipalities throughout the northeast.
Steve Somers 82 is the owner and president of Vigon International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high quality flavor and fragrance ingredients, including essential oils, oleoresins, botanical extracts and natural and synthetic aroma extracts. Founded in 1988, the company was purchased by Mr. Somers 10 years later and has since grown exponentially in both employee and facility size. One of Lehigh Valleys fastest growing companies, Vigon International was named one of the "Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania in 2013.

BROOKLYN AND PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – October 26, 2011 - St. Joseph’s College (SJC) is pleased to announce that it has elected three new members to its Board of Trustees: alumni Matthew J. Barbis ’94 and S. Helen M. Kearney, C.S.J, Ph.D., ’67 and Peter M. Boger of Ridgewood Savings Bank.

Matthew J. Barbis ’94 is president of the financial consulting and retirement investment firm Matthew Barbis and Co. He is also founder of The Rose Brucia Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit organization founded in response to the kidnapping and murder of his 11-year-old cousin in Sarasota, FL in 2004. The goal of the Foundation is to spread the message of stranger safety and reduce the number of child abductions in the U.S.
Peter M. Boger is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ridgewood Savings Bank. He has more than 34 years of financial experience in the banking industry and serves on the boards of Hellen Keller Services for the Blind, The Real Estate Institute at Stony Brook University and the Greater New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
S. Helen M. Kearney, C.S.J, Ph.D., ’67 currently serves as president of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood. Prior to this position, she was a former SJC faculty member in the Department of Child Study and was the director of the Dillon Child Study Center at the College’s Brooklyn Campus for 25 years. S. Helen is also a certified psychologist and holds a Ph.D. from New York University.
