Journalism and New Media Studies

Journalism and New Media Studies

The Journalism and New Media Studies major draws on traditional liberal arts disciplines — including English, history and communications — and applies them to professional media practices. Students develop their writing and reporting skills for new media formats such as interactive websites and digital video.

Journalism and New Media Studies majors develop their own areas of specialization, covering topics including politics, the arts and sports. Our students have recently completed internships with the Brooklyn Book Festival, the Brooklyn Nets, and outlets including OkayPlayer and Jomboy Media.

Journalism and New Media Studies Career Opportunities
