Professional and peer tutoring for all accounting, math, and computer science subjects is also available in the Academic Center.
Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. -3 p.m.
The Academic Center is located in the McEntegart Library, third floor, Room 300A.
Throughout each semester, the Academic Center offers free workshops for all students at the University. In the past, we have run a two-part APA workshop, an MLA workshop, workshops on grammar and punctuation and a workshop on writing the perfect five-paragraph essay.
All workshops are held in the Academic Center (unless otherwise noted) in Room 300A of McEntegart Hall on the Brooklyn Campus.
Tutoring in many other subjects is done on a by-appointment basis by peer tutors. If you need assistance in any other subject, or you would like to become a peer tutor, please contact the Academic Center (718.940.5756) or Hannah Wood, (718.940.5859, or [email protected]). Look out for the full schedule of peer tutors sent by email blast at the beginning of the semester and posted on the Academic Center portal page.
“I was actively involved in the Academic Center; I would go there almost every week. I knew all the tutors, I would get all my papers reviewed by them, and I would also go to peer tutoring one-on-one with an [upperclassman] nursing student. Having my papers reviewed really helped me understand where I needed to be and how I can improve. It was really helpful.”
