The minor in Hospitality and Tourism Management offers students pursuing a four-year program an opportunity to compliment their major with one of the fastest growing professions in the world.
No matter which major you have committed to, a minor in HTM will open up new possibilities for you. While this is a natural fit for business, health care and recreation majors due to the overlap of classes, there’s not a single industry that can’t benefit from more hospitality. History majors can put there New York City knowledge to work as a tour guide – which can be a $100-an-hour side job! Journalism majors can specialize in food and travel writing. Not a bad way to live!
All HTM students are encouraged to study abroad, participate in our mentoring program and get involved in our Brooklyn campus HTM club Hospitalented. Students take active roles in major events like "Art in a Bottle," "Not So Scary Foods," "Airline Expo," and "HospiChallenge." Through coursework and various programs, our HTM minors are exposed to professionals employed in every corner of the industry. If an HTM minor decides to explore work or internship opportunities, our "Skip the Line" program allows students to often go directly to the interview stage for jobs or internships they are vying for.
