ST. JOSEPH’S UNIVERSITY, NEW YORK OFFERS SOCIAL WORK SCHOLARSHIPS

PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – April 9, 2024 – St. Joseph’s University, New York (SJNY) is pleased to announce that Graduate Social Work Scholarships are now being offered to applicants of the University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program.  

Applicants who are eligible for admission into the program will automatically be considered for the scholarship based on a variety of factors, including academic accomplishments, relevant experience and availability of funds. No separate application is required and the current award amount is $4,000 per-semester. 

“Through these scholarships, we hope to alleviate some of the financial burden that so many students are dealing with right now,” said Jo Anne Durovich, Ph.D., LMSW, director of SJNY’s MSW program. “We are committed to educating future leaders and training the next generation of social workers who will help countless individuals in our communities.”

The MSW program at St. Joseph’s University, New York prepares students to work in the field of professional social work as generalist and clinical practitioners with a commitment to social justice, diversity, and individual and community empowerment. The program provides students with flexible scheduling, including day, evening, weekend and online classes, and firsthand experience through two internships during their studies.  

Social workers can be found in a variety of professions including government, counseling, schools, mental health and substance abuse rehabilitation, hospitals and health care settings, and social service organizations.
