Phi Alpha Theta Honor Society

Founded in 1921, Phi Alpha Theta is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history. The society counts more than 400,000 members with over 900 chapters nationwide. It is an academic professional society with a mission to promote the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians.

Membership requires the completion of at least 12 credits of history and a 3.5 GPA in history courses, with an overall GPA of 3.1.
