Day of the Dead, Dia de Muertos, is an annual Mexican celebration that is observed over an entire week with various foods, dances, music, the preparation of altars and special offerings for people who have died. It is a special time for families to gather and welcome the souls of the dead on their annual visit home. Join us as we celebrate the lives of our loved ones.
Food is one way to unite people of all backgrounds. It gives us the opportunity to celebrate diversity and cultivate dialogue amongst individuals of various cultures and generations. Join us for traditional cultural dishes.
On December 10, 1948, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. In celebration of this day, we will be celebrate all aspects of human rights and freedoms: freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear. Human Rights Day celebrates the differences from person to person but also celebrate the similarities that we share as people.
Students can use the events calendar within the Student Involvement and Leadership portal page for event details.
In addition, every Monday through St. Joseph’s University email, you will receive that week's events with more information.
