Office of Student Involvement, Leadership and Intercultural Engagement Events

Want to know what’s happening on campus and when? And if there will be food?

Whether you’re looking to keep up with clubs and activities, volunteer your time to help those in need or find ways to make friends and destress, student life offers something for everything.

Want to know what a typical semester is like on the Long Island Campus? Here is a quick overview of what the Office of Student Involvement, Leadership and Intercultural Engagement offers all SJNY students.

SGA Meetings

SGAOur Student Government Association (SGA) meetings are a must if you're interested in representing the voice of St. Joseph’s University's student body. SGA's committed to enhancing the entire student experience and promoting the image of the University and its students by upholding ourselves to the highest standards, leading with integrity and selflessly serving the University community and beyond. What does that all mean?

At student government meetings, representatives from all clubs and organizations share and discuss important information throughout year, announce upcoming events and learn various opportunities for club involvement. Meetings are held twice a month in the Student Center Multipurpose Room on Mondays during common hour.

Club Fair

Club Fair

The best opportunity to see firsthand what activities, intramural sports, causes and clubs St. Joseph’s University has to offer. Also, more free food. If you are interested in joining a club on campus or looking for ways to become involved, this is the best opportunity for you.

Every club and organization is represented and we will also have some additional organizations present.

Investiture (First Year Students Only)

Investiture

Investiture is a cherished academic tradition in St. Joseph's University as it is considered a night of commitment and celebration. Clad in academic attire, the individual young men and women that have entered the University in the fall are formally assembled as a future graduating class for the first time. As a unified body, the students will commit themselves to the values and spirit of St. Joseph's University by taking the “Academic Integrity Pledge.”

Blood Drive

Blood is Life ... Pass it On!
A great way to give back without having to actually do much of anything. Comfy chairs, free cookies and juice! Plus, all donors will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize.

WE ARE WEDNESDAY

Each semester, students, faculty and staff gather to show off their SJNY spirit. Join us at the beginning of every month as student life hosts special events that put pride for St. Joe’s on full display!

Some examples of events include:

  • Pumpkin Painting
  • Frosty Fest
  • BINGO
  • Planting a Seed

Students can use the Office of Student Involvement, Leadership and Intercultural Engagement for event details.

In addition, every Monday through St. Joseph’s University email, you will receive that week's events with more information.
