Our B.S. in Marketing teaches you all the major components of creating an effective strategy, including advertising, public relations, consumer motivation, marketing research and knowledge of your target market.
Between 2019-2029, the number of marketing managers across the country is expected to rise more than 19 percent, a significantly higher increase than the national average for all occupations, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Combined with business and accounting courses, our extensive marketing curriculum delivers a comprehensive education, preparing students for jobs in market research and analysis, sales, advertising, development, public relations and other career paths. What’s more, the skills taught in this program are useful in every career in public, private and non-profit sectors.
"The business and marketing programs at St. Joseph's University expanded my knowledge and prepared me for the corporate world. With the small-knit community and small class sizes, I was able to learn and interact with my professors on a 1-to-1 basis. This allowed me to truly establish a strong understanding of business and marketing principles within the corporate world, where it was easy and convenient to ask for help if I needed it. I feel confident for my future as a prospective businesswoman!"
The Choice is Yours: Consider selecting an optional concentration in finance and sports management. The finance concentration includes investment analysis and management, money and banking, international finance and insurance. Sports management topics cover sports law, facilities management, marketing and planning.
Double Major Option: Looking to pursue a double major? A marketing major pairs well with such majors as business administration, accounting, psychology, journalism and new media studies, and hospitality and tourism management.
Experienced Professionals: Study with trained professionals who are experts in their respective fields.
Creating a schedule that fits into your busy life has never been easier. Regardless of your age, work schedule or other commitments, at St. Joseph’s, we offer flexible scheduling options — including evening classes — that can fit the busy lifestyle of any student. In fact, St. Joseph's University offers students the chance to participate in the Prior Experiential Learning Assessment (PELA) Program, which gives you the opportunity to apply for credit for the experiential learning you have acquired during your career. Validated learning, not the experience alone, is the basis for awarding up to 27 PELA credits.
